Sneak Peek: TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Silver Limited Edition
The 2020 TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Silver Limited Edition in a stainless steel case (reference: CBK221B.FC6479) marks the 160th anniversary of the original Carrera lineup that was then inspired by the legendary Carrera Panamericana.
The movement — Heuer 02 — used is an automatic manufacture chronograph movement. It is comprised of 168 components — including a column wheel and a vertical clutch — and beats at the frequency of 4Hz (28’000 A/h) allowing for a very impressive 80 hour power reserve.
The dial shows the functions of hours, minutes, central chronograph seconds hand, 12-hour chronograph counter at 9 o’clock, 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock, and permanent second counter at 6 o’clock on a silver sun-ray brushed dial. The display case-back is engraved “LIMITED EDITION” and “ONE OF 1860”.
It comes on a black alligator strap with polished stainless-steel folding clasp with double safety push-buttons.
The water resistance is a good — 100m (10 ATM) — on this one.

Watch Ya Gonna Do About It?
In terms of use, we would say it is a daily wearer and definitely a good looking sports watch and the sub-dials really add to the sporty charm. Given it’s only 39mm diameter in size and doesn’t have any loud colour combinations on the dial, it can also be used as a dress watch and perhaps even for a formal occasion. It will to fit under the cuff for that boardroom meeting. It can also be worn over with weekend with jeans and t-shirt. It would however look amazing at a race track, where coincidentally it’s inspired by anyway.
Given that the watch only comes in a limited number of 1860 pieces, it can make it a highly sought after item especially for fans of the original “2447S”.
