Latest watch release – The new Vacheron Constantin Overseas 33mm
Vacheron Constantin’s men heavy Overseas collection now embraces its feminine side. The mason’s latest watch release, the new Vacheron Constantin Overseas 33mm, is a ladies watch that is in a class of its own.
Designed to be a travel companion, the Overseas collection was last invigorated in 2016. This year we see the introduction of a new size — the smallest yet — that embodies casual elegance and comfort.
The most visually striking element of this new release is the ladies Overseas collection emblematic six-sided bezel — resembling Vacheron Constantin’s Maltese cross —that is adorned with 78 “brilliant”-cut (~0.8 ct) diamonds.
Our favourite version is the blue dialled one, where the sunburst satin-brushed lacquered dial is mesmerisingly framed by diamonds. The facetted luminescent hands and hour-markers are in stark contrast to this blue dial and aide in watch’s readability. The arrow marker pointing to the very clearly located date window at 3’o clock is another added feature we admire.
The Overseas 33mm comes in three options.
An 18K 5N pink gold version that features a silver-toned lacquered dial (reference: 1205V/000R-B592) and two (more price worthy) steel variations that feature an original denim blue lacquered dial (reference: 1205V/100A-B590) and a black lacquered dial (reference:1205V/100A-B591).
The appeal of these new timepieces is further enhanced by the availability of interchangeable strap/bracelet system.
The pink gold version is made available with white Mississippiensis alligator leather featuring a black white lining with a micro-perforated effect and a second strap in white rubber.
The steel versions come on a steel bracelet with half Maltese cross-shaped polished and satin-brushed links. They also have more options: a second strap in denim blue/black Mississippiensis alligator leather with a micro-perforated effect and also a third strap in denim blue/black rubber.
The movement used — calibre 1207 SC — is a quartz movement with a date window at 3’o clock and comprises of 74 components & 7 jewels, beating at the frequency of 32,768Hz.
The dial shows the functions of hours, minutes, central seconds, and date on translucent silver/denim blue-toned/black lacquered, sunburst satin-finished base dials with circular-satin finished flanges. The hour markers are either 18K 5N pink gold or 18K white gold and hours & minutes hands are highlighted with white luminescent material.
Costs: Steel versions are 21’600 AUD while the pink gold version will set you back by 41’300 AUD.
