Girard-Perregaux Laureato 38mm – Sneak Peek
The Girard-Perregaux Laureato 38mm in steel or 18K pink gold marks the introduction of the unisex range side of the collection. It comes in three different dial options and reference numbers listed here for your ease.
Reference: GP03300-0030/00030 (silver dials – steel/pink gold oscillating weight)
Reference: GP03300-0130/0129 (slate-grey dials – steel/pink gold oscillating weight)
Reference: GP03300-0132 (blue dials)
The movement — calibre GP03300— used is a mechanical, automatic movement featuring a date at 3’o clock and beating at the frequency of 4.0Hz (28’800 A/h) allowing for an okay 46 hour power reserve. The movement comprises of 218 components and 27 Jewels.
The movement is cased inside a daily wearable 38mm diameter and 10.02mm thick case with a steel bezel set with 56 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 0.9 cts.
The dial shows the functions of hours, minutes, and sweep-seconds hand and date on an option of either a silver-toned, or slate grey, or blue, with “Clous de Paris” hobnail motif dial. The baton-type (enhanced with luminescent substance) hands read well against the dial and make the watch better for time legibility. The glare proof sapphire crystal further aides the readability. The display case-back is transparent and covered with sapphire crystal.
The watch comes on either a black or anthracite grey or white alligator with topstitching leather strap with a steel triple folding clasp. A metal bracelet in steel or 18K pink gold with alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces is also available. The watches fitted with an alligator leather strap are delivered with an additional rubber strap.
The water resistance is a good 100m (10 ATM) on this one – so it can be used for light swimming, in the rain, and for washing your hands.
Watch Ya Gonna Do About It?
Given its 38mm diameter in size, it can also work as a dress watch and the diamonds on the bezel elevate it to be worn at a formal occasion. Given its only 10.02mm thickness it will fit comfortably under the cuff for that boardroom meeting. It can also be worn over with weekend with jeans and t-shirt. It is a very versatile watch and features in our FusionFriday and His+Her sections.
Given that the watch is not a limited edition model, we would recommend going in to a Girard-Perregaux boutique and trying one on in person to really marvel at its beauty.
