New 2020 release Vacheron Constantin Égérie moon phase jewellery model is a bedazzling beauty
The new 2020 release Vacheron Constantin Égérie moon phase jewellery model for women comes hot on the heels of the recently launched dedicated ladies collection that included three versions: Égérie self-winding, Égérie moon phase, and Égérie moon phase diamond-pavé. This new watch most closely resembles the latter watch, the reference 8006F/000G-B499.
The reference 8006F/000G-B499 was in a white gold case set with 292 round-cut diamonds (~3.00 ct) and came on two strap options: blue Mississippiensis alligator leather strap with satin effect and a blue satin strap. Each strap is equipped with two 18K white gold ardillon buckles (directly mounted on the straps), each set with 21 round-cut diamonds (~0.21 ct).
But neither of these was completely covered in dazzling diamonds.
Enter the new Vacheron Constantin Égérie moon phase jewellery model. This new jewellery release is essentially a diamond studded bracelet version of the above reference.
Reference 8016F/126G-B499 in an 18K white gold case set with 246 brilliant-cut diamonds sets this new watch apart. This self-winding model comes in the case size of of 37mm diameter and 10.53mm thickness with a transparent sapphire crystal caseback and a water resistance of 30m (3 ATM).
The heart — calibre 1088 L — is a manufacture calibre, mechanical, self-winding movement composed of 164 components & 26 jewels. It features an off-centred moon phase display at 2’o clock and beats at the frequency of 4Hz (28’800 A/h) allowing for a decent 40-hour power reserve.
The dial shows the functions of hours, minutes, centre seconds, and moon phase on an 18K white gold dial set with 510 round-cut diamonds. The moon phase features a mother of pearl moon behind a translucent sapphire crystal cloud. The hour markers are 18K white gold applied Arabic numerals but without any luminous content.
It comes on a five rowed 18K white gold bracelet that is studded with 588 brilliant-cut diamonds and features an 18K white gold folding clasp.
Fun-fact: In total, the new Vacheron Constantin Égérie moon phase jewellery model features a whopping 1345 diamonds — including a rose-cut diamond adorning the offset crown aligned with the moon-phase display — that total roughly 11.95 ct.
Watch Ya Gonna Do About It
The Égérie name of the collection has been derived from Egeria, a famous nymph in the Roman mythology. This new 2020 release Vacheron Constantin Égérie moon phase jewellery model resonates of strong character and bright elegance.
The Égérie collection overall marks the brand’s dedication to creating something wonderfully unique for the fairer sex by combining the essence of Haute Horlogerie and Haute Couture.
Overall, the most striking feature of these new timepieces is the use of concentric circles that highlight the pavé dials. Combined with the dainty off-centred moonphase complication, these watches are truly inspired by the heritage of the Maison.
The new Égérie ladies’ collection is a step in the right direction as brands start to include dedicated women’s watch collections in their overall range. Given the look and sizing, the Égérie collection is essentially a dress watch range but will feel at home at a formal occasion or even at the office boardroom.
To put it simply, the new collection is a visual extravaganza for your wrists, and features a unique bridge between watchmaking, couture and jewellery.
