Why
Because the notes of summer still linger in Europe and with the world needing a dose of merriment, what better way to showcase the fun-filled, sun-soaked, partying world of the legendary Mykonos island than by introducing it to your wrist
Who Is It For
For the high-flyers who would like to carry a slice of the Mediterranean with them wherever they go. Stunning aesthetics aside, it is also for those connoisseurs who appreciate the finer things in life, and would like to add to their collection a fine timepiece.
Rare in numbers, and enriched with the essence of a rarefied mythic Mykonos world, those who are always sailing the waters aboard their yachts, will find that the new Franck Muller Mykonos Limited Edition is always home.

Basic Specs
Given the press release somehow didn’t have any specifications, as far as I can tell, the new Franck Muller Mykonos Limited Edition is technically a part of the brand’s Yachting sub-collection. It is a 44 mm x 53.7 mm x 12.7 mm rose gold or titanium cased beauty with 30m water resistance, and from my experience with their watches, will perhaps wear big as well.
As to the engine inside, it should be the MVT FM 2800-DT, which is an automatic movement with bidirectional rotor system.
This 25.60mm x 3.6mm movement comprises 191 components and 21 jewels, beats at the frequency of 4Hz, and offers 41 hours of power reserve. The movements are usually generously decorated, and while I can’t confirm this, but the MVT FM 2800-DT should feature Côtes de Genève and brushing “soleil papier” on the bridges and the rotor, along with polished and blued screws.

How Does It Do
It is not the first time that the brand has visited this, with the 2018 Sincerewatch.com World Exclusive Vanguard ™ Mykonos 28-pieces LE coming to mind. The 2018 version featured a more yellow and blue vibe — yellow inner bezel is the sun kissing the blue waters — while the latest edition focuses more on blue (with hints of gold) aesthetics.
Exceptional legibility thanks to the hand painted appliqué numerals is the call of the day. And a beautiful blue dial a close second. Exclusivity is third, followed on its heels by the now-iconic Franck Muller case shape of the Vanguard ™ family.

Though blue dialled watches aren’t exactly new, the dial of the new Franck Muller Mykonos Limited Edition features different shades of blue, “specially developed for this limited edition and never used before in Franck Muller collections”.
One of my favourite features is the inclusion of the hand painted white enamel island of Mykonos in the centre of the dial atop a blue Guilloché dial base. It’s as if the actual white-painted Mykonos island is sitting surrounded by the wavy waters of the Aegean.

That’s All Folks!
“Her dress sparkled like the stars that blanketed the Mykonos night sky,” wrote Anthea Syrokou, the author of The Greek Tapestry.
With an almost sparkling multi-shaded blue dial that reminds of the beauty of the blue-green waters of the Aegean, the dial of the new Franck Muller Mykonos Limited Edition presents connoisseurs with the rare ability to carry a piece of exotica wherever they go.
It’s time to celebrate life and party with the new Franck Muller Mykonos Limited Edition.
