Girard-Perregaux Laureato 34mm – Sneak Peek Review

The Girard-Perregaux Laureato 34mm in steel, 18K pink gold & steel, or 18K pink gold — reference GP013100-0002 — marks the introduction of the feminine range side of GP’s Laureato collection.

The movement — calibre GP013100— used is a quartz featuring a date at 3’o clock and beating at the frequency of 32,768 Hz. The movement comprises of 7 Jewels.

The movement is cased inside a 34mm diameter and 7.75mm thick case with a steel bezel set with 56 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 0.82 cts.

The dial shows the functions of hours, minutes, and date on an option of either a silver-toned, or slate grey, or blue with “Clous de Paris” hobnail motif dial. The baton-type (enhanced with luminescent substance) hands read well against the dial and make the watch better for time readability. The glare proof sapphire crystal further aides the readability. The case-back is closed on these versions.

The watch comes on either a black or anthracite grey or white alligator with topstitching leather strap with a steel triple folding clasp. A metal bracelet in steel or 18K pink gold and steel, or 18K pink gold with alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces is also available. The watches fitted with an alligator leather strap are delivered with an additional rubber strap.

The water resistance is a basic 30m (3 ATM) on this one.

Watch Ya Gonna Do About It?

In terms of use, we would say it is a good looking, diamond-studded watch with a feminine appeal.

Given its 34mm diameter in size, it essentially works as a dress watch and the diamonds on the bezel elevate it to be worn at a formal occasion. Given its only 10.02mm thickness it will fit comfortably under the cuff for that boardroom meeting.

Given that the watch is not a limited edition model, we would recommend going in to a Girard-Perregaux boutique and trying one on in person to really marvel at its beauty.
