New 2020 watch, the Breitling Premier Bentley Mulliner Limited Edition
The Breitling Premier Bentley Mulliner Limited Edition is the latest watch release from the brand that is famed for its association with aviation and known for creating high-precision timepieces since 1884.
What makes this release special
As the name suggests, the watch focuses on the Bentley Mulliner workshop, which since 1959 has crafted Bentley’s most unique tailor-made models. And it was only fitting to introduce this new watch as a limited edition model.
This new limited edition release of only 1000 pieces marks the continuing collaboration between Breitling and Bentley Motors.

Car. Meet Watch.
In many ways the watch is an extension of the Bentley Continental GT Mulliner Convertible.
In terms of the influences seen inside the car, there are a couple of interesting ones:
- Bringing the two brands together, a Breitling clock rests nicely inside the automobile’s dashboard.
- They both share Arabic numerals: the dashboard clock features the numerals at 3, 6, 9 and 12’o clock while the watch has them at 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, and 11’o clock.

Now the influences of the new car are a plenty on the watch, and it is here that things get really interesting.
- The watch comes on a blue alligator leather strap that resembles the Imperial Blue leather interior of the car.
- The silver dial of the watch echoes the Bentley Continental GT Mulliner Convertible’s dashboard clock.
- The red seconds hand and centered 60-minute scale mirror the red stitching found throughout the interior cabin of the Bentley Continental GT Mulliner Convertible.
- On the left side of the watch case is a plate with an engraved “Bentley” inscription. The design of this is based on the engine spin dashboard found in historic Bentleys.
The Specifications
This new release from Breitling comes with the following specifications:
The heart used — Breitling Manufacture Calibre 01 — is a COSC-certified, self-winding, bi-directional with ball bearings and column-wheel movement beating at the frequency of 4Hz (28’800 A/h).
The movement is encased inside a 42mm diameter and 13.65mm thick case. It is comprised of 346 components and boasts of an impressive 70 hours power reserve.
The watch face shows the functions of hours, minutes, seconds, and chronograph with a 30 minute counter at 3’o clock and a small-second sub-dial at 9’o clock.
The Dial
The beautiful silvery white dial with blue (sub-dials, inner bezel) and red accents (seconds hand and centered 60-minute scale) is protected by a convex sapphire glass crystal with antireflective coating on both sides.
The dial features a striking white tachymeter scale on a blue inner bezel around the dial, with a red tachymeter inscription. The subtle use of colours is understated elegance, that resonates all with the luxury nature of this partnership.
An aspect that could bother some is that the inner red circle is continuous, and doesn’t break at the sub-dials. This is perhaps the only messy part of an otherwise superbly clean dial.
The dial also features contrasting Super-LumiNova® luminescent hour and minute hands that aide in legibility.
The Arabic numerals are applied and raised, while the sub-dials are sunken. Overall, these features combine to provide a fair sense of three-dimensions to the dial.

The watch comes on a blue alligator leather strap with folding buckle.
The Breitling Premier Bentley Mulliner Limited Edition — reference AB0118A71G1P1 or AB0118A71G1P2 — is enclosed in a stainless steel case with a display case-back and features a non-screwed-locked crown with tow gaskets aiding in the 100m (10 ATM) water resistance.

The Breitling Premier Bentley Mulliner Limited Edition presents a beautiful looking sports watch. Given that the watches are limited edition, they are something that Bentley fans and Breitling watch enthusiasts will surely lap up real quick.
