The 2019/2020 TAG Heuer Autavia steel edition comes in five configurations:

Blue dial and bezel with brown calfskin strap – reference WBE5116.FC8266

Black dial and bezel with brown calfskin strap – reference WBE5114.FC8266

Grey dial and steel bezel with brown calfskin strap – reference WBE5115.FC8267

Blue dial and bezel with stainless-steel bracelet & NATO strap – reference WBE5116.EB0173.

Black dial and bezel with stainless-steel bracelet & NATO strap – reference – WBE5114.EB0173.

These watches by TAG Heuer feature the updated Autavia with a more contemporary look and new movement.

The movement — Calibre 5 — used is an chronometer-certified automatic movement with a diameter of 26mm, containing 25 jewels. It beats at the frequency of 4Hz (28’800 A/h) allowing for a just okay 38 hour power reserve.

Dial features of all versions are similar except of the base colour. The watch face shows the functions of hours, minutes, seconds, date and a bi-directional rotating bezel with a 60-minute scale in black ceramic, blue ceramic or stainless steel option. The hour markers and hour, minute and seconds hands are coated in Super-LumiNova® (please see our detailed review here for more info on the dial face).

The closed case-back features etched images of a propeller and tyre.

The water resistance is a good — 100m (10 ATM) — on this one.

Price range – AUD4150 to AUD4600

Watch Ya Gonna Do About It?

In terms of use, we would say it is a daily wearer. It’s a good looking sports watch and features a fair number of Autavia codes that have been re-interpreted.  Given it’s 42mm diameter in size, it won’t really fit perfectly under the cuff for that boardroom meeting but is good if you are someone who plays sports straight after work. A great watch to show off to your buddies, it is a loud watch that will turn heads especially of admirers of the brand. The blue dial and bezel version is our favourite.

Given that the watches are not limited edition, they are something that Autavia fans and TAG Heuer watch enthusiasts can check out at leisure and decide if they are the right option for them.
