Sneak Peek: Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Special Edition Rockies
The 2020 Spirit of Big Bang Special Edition Rockies in a microblasted and polished white ceramic case (reference 641.HX.7170.RX.ASP19) marks the opening of Hublot’s first U.S. mountain-resort boutique at Aspen.
The movement — HUB4700 — used is a self-winding chronograph movement with a date window at 4.30 and comprises of 270 components & beats at the high frequency of 5Hz (36’000 A/h) allowing for a generous (roughly) 50 hour power reserve.
The dial shows the functions of hours, minutes, seconds, date and a chronograph on a skeletonised dial. The white luminescent hands contrast well with the blue outer-ringed sub-dials providing a much needed relief to the otherwise busy dial. (Please see our detailed review here for more info on the dial face).
The bezel is microblasted and polished white ceramic with iconic 6 H-shaped screws. It blends with the case and dial face.
The case-back is microblasted and polished white ceramic covered with sapphire crystal with “SPECIAL EDITION xx/25” engraved.
It comes on a blue structured lined rubber strap with a lightweight titanium deployant buckle.
Given it’s intended use is targeted at snowy and wet terrains, the water resistance is decent – 100m (10ATM) — on this one.
Cost of these watches: 26’700 USD.
